1 Year Anniversary

Hi Everyone,

I can't even believe it, but July 21st will be our 1 year anniversary of arriving in Guam! It seems like we've been here forever but at the same time, I can remember it like it was yesterday.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer so far. Has anyone been doing any traveling this year? We have been, unfortunately we haven't been traveling together, which will never happen again if we can do anything about it.

Both Marty and I had separate trips to Illinois over the last 2 months. Marty was there in May and I was there in June. So here are some pics that we wanted to share with you.

with Dan & Jill........
it's such a shame that they just don't know how to have fun...........
Obviously, I'm kidding.

now here's some good looking dudes......
Marty and Gary.......
Marty, Rik and Russell......Marty and Rik......wait a minute, where have I seen that photo before???? Oh I remember.....
HOLY CRAP!!! How funny is that?!?!?!?!?

and Hunter wearing Uncle Marty's hat and shoes......
Of course it was your usual "vacation".............busy, busy, busy.

Marty and I had exactly 5 days between his plane landing in Guam and mine taking off for Illinois.

Me and Hunter the day I arrived in Illinois.....
Now I just want to share a quick Thank You to my mom and Bobbie Ann for taking such good care of me when I got there. I'll spare everyone the details but I was really sick and it was really nice that they didn't make me go and stay in a hotel (feel free to research "bullous myringitis"). Bobbie Ann even showed me how to cook Ramen Noodles which I had never eaten it before -- it's actually pretty good. Now I know why the fish love it so much when we give it to them while snorkeling.

Thanks guys -- I love you!

mom..........
Bobbie Ann and Hunter......
I told Hunter I wanted to bring him back to Guam with me, but he was not impressed with the flying arrangements............
So he got to stay with his mommy, but the boy sure knows how to party........

Dan & Jill......
I was able to get together with a couple of the girls I went to Grade School with -- that's right I said GRADE SCHOOL. Here's me with Laurie and Nikki........
Of course, I would never be in Illinois without making a trip out to see my favorite Indiana family.............the Green's.
Talia........Colton....... I also had the chance to visit with Marty's mom, Rik and Marie, and Tiffany and Alexa. I'm bummed that I didn't take any pics with them.

Now one of the main reasons I was in Illinois was to be at the Christening of my new godson.....
This is Paul William, born April 8th. What a total CUTIE!!!!!
Paul and his mommy, Melissa......
and his daddy, Paul (well PJ to those of us that have known him forever).......
with his Uncle Nelson (godfather) and Aunt Crystal......
Once I wasn't contagious anymore, I spent as much time as possible over at PJ and Melissa's.....

dinner with Melissa's family and let me just say that there are some funny things that can bring a family together (you guys know what I'm talking about).....
PJ with the other members of their family, (from left to right) Kodie, Bailey and Duncan......Hunter and Bailey waiting for dinner.........Bailey's dinner, not Hunter's.....
Duncan arrived shortly before baby Paul did but you wouldn't know that he's only 6 months old...

The day before the christening was their annual Pig Roast so the house was full of family and friends.......
Melissa, baby Paul and cousin Ronnie......
the masculine side of the Blaszczyk family (Dad, baby Paul and PJ)........
Sharon and Chuck (sister and brother-in-law)......
The Christening was the day before I left to come back home........
Then back on a plane and home to Guam.........
and back to the beach -- I'll bet you were wondering if I was actually going to send out a blog without beach pictures.

Don't be ridiculous...................
So even though we didn't get to visit Illinois together, Marty and I both had a nice visit home. Not that we needed a reminder, but we know we would never be able to live in Illinois again -- considering we were both cold during the summer, we could never handle another Illinois winter!

We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer -- sadly, it will be over before you know it.
Be safe and healthy!
Love and miss you!
