Well we thought we would share the awful time we are having in Guam so far.............
HA HA HA HA!! Just kidding obviously -- not about the view, this is actually our view from the kitchen but about the horrible time we are having.
So far, everything is going great. Of course if you would have talked to the kitties, the first 4 days we were here, I'm sure they would have disagreed........
.......sure, what the heck. Some may think it's not much to look at but the house is basically a concrete bunker with typhoon shutters on all the windows. From what we're told, the house can withstand 195mph winds. I'm hoping we won't have to test that statement but we have found that if it's pouring down rain, you wouldn't know it unless you looked out the windows or went outside........that's good enough for me!
We didn't exactly have too many complaints about the hotel we "had" to stay in for 4 days........
I can also say for the first time, that I'm tired of SPENDING MONEY!!!! It's really amazing how many things you need to buy when you're waiting 6-8 weeks for your belongings to arrive on "a slow boat to China". However, we have been able to find the time to check out Tarague Beach which is the private beach here on Andersen AFB.
The drive to the beach is..................scenic.............
..........but well worth it................
Well off we go to Bamboo Willies on the beach for a few drinks. You don't even want to know what the drive down here is like......in the DARK -- $%*&%#@!!!!
"Can you believe I'm getting paid to live here?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Looks like you stopped in Miami. I pictured little huts not a huge sprawling city! It looks so beautiful. You will hate to leave that place.
By the way to open a coconut (as long as you are not trying to keep the milk)is you drop it on the driveway.

Jen & Marty --- How awesome is your adventure!?! I am so jealous! A beach, a beautiful drive to get there, a palm-tree lined view from your kitchen ... the list goes on & on! My family had a quick stopover in Guam when I was 10 (on our way to and from the Phillipines), but I certainly don't remember it looking like that. Of course, that was ____ years ago! It sound like you guys are so embracing your new adventure -- and loving every second of it! Stay in touch and send lots of pics. (I LOVE your "adventure" page, too!)
